Dear White Collar,

Thank you for bringing Diana back and making her entirely awesome. I will watch forever so long as she's around.

So much love right now,
Auto

Dear Songbird,

I love your feathers and your tabbed browsing. I love your extensions and, please, don't get me started on my adoration of your last.fm integration. I could write an ode.

But if you don't give me a way to permanently skip a song without deleting it from my library, I may have to go back to iTunes. Can't you take a page from their book? Just put a nice little check box next to each track and I will love you forever.

Because I really don't want to go back. iTunes makes me sad.

Much love,
Auto

Seriously, my crush on this man is huge. I'm still not sick of Life in Cartoon Motion and I listened to it almost continuously during my cross-country road trip last summer. I'm so excited for the new album; I think "We Are Golden" is pretty awesome, and the music video makes me really, really happy.

Also, the new Muse single, "Uprising", is pretty awesome as well. It doesn't have the really shrill vocals of Black Hole and Revelations, but it keeps its more uptempo dance beats combined with the huskier vocals of Absolution.

Ha! I do so enjoy xkcd.

And on that note, I'm off to MA for a week of New England goodness. And is it sad that the thing I'm most looking forward to is seeing Star Trek with JH and BH? Why yes, yes it is.

I love Susan Boyle. How can anyone not? She's entirely adorable from her first audition when she completely stunned everybody (which was AWESOME) to her performance tonight when she looked beautiful and sang even more beautifully. I so sincerely hope she wins. Can Americans vote in Britain's Got Talent? Because I want to, badly.

In other news, BHjr came home today and brought with him the Star Trek glasses from Burger King that I've been coveting for ages and ages. Now I can happily stare at Kirk and Spock (and even Uhura and Nero if I'm particularly feeling the ST love, but always always Kirk and Spock) while I'm eating dinner. Oh, happy day!

And because tomorrow's Memorial Day I, like Aladdin, can continue in my (generally happily) unemployed state for at least another day.

Is anybody else obscenely sick of Lady Gaga? I mean really. The other day I was flipping through the presets in my car and of the six I have, three stations were playing her songs, two were playing "Poker Face" and the third "Just Dance". I'll admit to really liking her back in December when I first heard "Just Dance", but it's been five months and her songs are still everywhere. If this continues, I'll never be able to listen to the radio again.

OH MY GOD! I was jumping in my seat with glee the entire movie.

Admittedly, I know very little about TOS what with being raised on TNG and VOY, and every time I see TOS on TV I can only watch a few minutes because the disco is blinding, but I do know the magnitude of this:

To bodly go with the spoilers )

I can't believe Life was canceled. It was by far my favorite drama on TV and now it's gooooone!

NBC is getting no love from me next season. None. At. All. (Except for, you know, my Office and 30 Rock love, but that's directed exclusively at the shows. NBC gets NONE.)

Spoilers for last night's TV ahead! (Maybe, probably)

Dear How I Met Your Mother,

Oh. My. God. I love you. Please don't go on summer break; I think I might go through withdrawl.

Love,
Auto

Dear Chuck writers,

For shame. "I know kung-fu". Really? That's the best line you could think up? And you call yourself professional writers.

No love,
Auto

Dear Castle,

Please please please get picked up for another season. I just mainlined every episode that's aired so far and IT'S NOT NEARLY ENOUGH. You are adorable and funny and witty and slightly absurd and remind me in no small way of Bones (and yes, that was a compliment). I want Nathan Fillion to be on my television FOREVER.

Love,
Auto

Two new Bones episodes in a row! I feel so spoiled.

Stephen Fry! I'm pretty sure I could watch that man do anything and still adore him.

Loved the Sweets back story in tonight's ep. Also, oh, Bones. And oh, Booth. After dinner you should both go home together and comfort one another with some tender sexing.

I had a brief moment of wanting Gordon Gordon/Sweets slash. It's probably over, but still. Stephen Fry! I need to go watch some Jeeves & Wooster.

Is it just me or has the Booth/Brennan sexual tension become even more obvious over the last few eps? I mean, it's always been a big part of the show, but it seems to me as if they're really playing it up. I so sincerely hope there are some sexual shenanigans in the near future or I might just explode from anticipation/want/tension.

I've enjoyed the rotating grad students, but after last night ep (4x20 - The Cinderella in the Cardboard) I'm hoping the Wendell is the one that sticks. Or Mr. Nigel-Murray - his various random facts amuse me to no end.

Finally, Stephen Fry!

Why oh why is there no NCIS tonight? I need Gibbs and Abby.

I also need shoes. I've no idea why because I mostly wear my Chucks or Vans everywhere, but recently all I've wanted is a pair of ankle boots and a pair of really nice dress shoes. I spent a good hour last night browsing Zappos and found far too many possibilities. I think that for both my sanity and bank account I need to keep the shoe shopping to stores that have a very limited stock. This is one instance where options are not my friend.

BHjr has convinced me to give Supernatural a try. I haven't started yet, but have the entire first season ready and waiting. Wish me luck, I'm going in! *Takes deep breath and hopes to avoid catching the batshitcrazy of the SPN fandom*

Ok, we're not really talking sex, but rather censorship and idiocy. But talking sex does sound so much more fun.

And because I have chores to do and Mother is yelling I'll just say go here at SBTB for the full story and revel in the new Amazon Rank definition. I'll rock it.

I went with Father to Sunshine Cleaning today. Probably I'll have more to say about that later, but my hands are freezing and it's insanely difficult to type because I've all the windows open to keep the smell of the hair dye from completely permeating everything in my room.

And my scalp is burning.

I'm so happy I'm gonna Jack. (And can I just say, because haven't yet and that's a major oversight on my part, that the latest 30 Rock episode (Apollo, Apollo) was perhaps the greatest 30 minutes of television EVER.)

In relation to the the above link: you know the people who were going to that screening with the belief that it was Wrath of Khan are real Trekkies and as such the ones most inclined to be harshest on the reboot. That they're excited makes me honest-to-god giddy. I'm practically vibrating. SO HAPPY!

Iowa High Court Backs Same-Sex Marriage.

I have to admit that Prop 8 made me furious last November. I may have gotten irrationally angry at everything even remotely associated with religion that month.

At any rate, hooray for Iowa. How surprising is it that Iowa is more progressive than California in gay marriage legislation? On the one hand, it makes me a bit sad what with being a CA kid, but on the other hand, if a state in the Midwest approves gay marriage it's a lot more significant/impressive than CA doing it and that makes me really really happy.

Today I made dinner. The Father is out of town, so it was just Mother and me - a perfect time to try making my own spaghetti sauce. I found a meatballs and spaghetti recipe on what is currently one of my favorite sites, Smitten Kitchen. The sauce was a little too watery - next time I'll drain the tomatoes - but other than that everything was delicious. I paired the pasta with a black bean confetti salad because Mother and I are both a bit maxed out on the traditional Caesar salad. We spooned the salad onto a bed of spinach and padded a little extra dressing. So so good! I have a feeling come summer it'll be a staple in the house next to the gazpacho and Otter Pops.

Tomorrow I'm going to try baking the black and white cookies because I love love love them and my sweet tooth's been acting up as of late.

Off to search for a decent Gigi download as my icon's just given me the urge to listen to sketchy songs about little girls and ogle Gaston for a few hours.

Sniped from Smart Bitches Trashy Books:
In case you were ever curious what would happen if you put Walt Whitman’s Leaves of Grass in a blender with really zesty, awful fanfic, an overblown love of faeries and elves, and an entire four-volume set of Ye Olde Guide to Simile and Metaphore and pressed the button marked “I Can Has Literary Masterpiece Plz?”

This is what would happen. And thank ye heavens, there is an audio version. One can only hope for velvet paintings in the near future.
