SGA Season 4
I finally finished watching SGA season 4. It took forever; I got bored about ten episodes in, took a loooong break and worked my way through the second half of the season over the past few days.

Really, she does suck. First season Teyla was awesome, and the subsequent two seasons Teyla was almost as awesome, but fourth season Teyla blows. Not telling John about the pregnancy was a big no no. And the whole searching for her babydaddy thing was bogus. Maybe it would have been better had we met him even once before, but we didn't and the entire thing felt like a plot thrown in at the last minute. Obviously it wasn't as it ties in with the Michael plot so well, but still, bad plot line. Is it horrible for me to hope that the baby dies? If it doesn't, it's going to be mucking everything up forever and ever and I'll resent it for making Teyla less than awesome. (In full disclosure, this may be my own anti-kid bias showing through here, because kids and I just don't get along.)

And I really disliked how it really became the McKay/Sheppard show (not that I'd mind that if there were some sexin' going on, but there wasn't). I didn't realize how much I liked the team angle of the show until the team became little more than props. Ronon barely had any lines in the last few episodes. I miss Ronon.

That being said, I really like Todd. Like, absurdly so. I really hope he stays on as a recurring character, or (dare I hope) I regular one. I think he's amusing and interesting and I loved the scene with him and Ronon in the final episode when they blow up Michael's base together. I think their relationship, and Todd's relationship with the rest of the team, could be really interesting next season if the writers do it right. And if they do do it, I hope they don't give him the Wraith equivalent of a chip a la Spike (much as I love Spike) because it'd be interesting if they delved into the deeper moral dilemmas of regularly and voluntarily cooperating with a Wraith who still needs to feed on humans.

Those are my thoughts right now. Possibly I'll have more in the near future. In summary, the fourth season was only middling, mommyTeyla sucks, Ronon needs more lines, Todd needs more face time and Rodney and Sheppard should be sexing each other up.
